“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
Living a Life with No Regrets is no easy task. In fact, without regrets or mistakes it is often impossible for us prideful and stubborn humans to learn or “understand what the Lord’s will is.” Regret, however is not only the things that you have done, but the moments in which you left as a “What ifs…”. Studies reveal that most of people regret moments of INACTION rather than those of action. I believe this is why Paul urges the church in Ephesus and in turn all believers to be “very careful in how you live… making the MOST of every opportunity.”
In order to live the principles of a no regrets life:
Live Passionately. Love Completely. Learn Humbly. Leave Boldly.
One must make the most every opportunity and live a life of ACTION, and if you fail? Guess, what… Jesus says, “My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made PERFECT in your weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9)
God by no means calls us to live a SAFE life, but one of action, one of risk, and one that fully understands that Jesus died and shed grace so that in your weakness you realize that He is POWERFUL!
WAKE UP, O SLEEPER!!!
Just before this call to live in such a way where you are making the most of every opportunity, Paul calls us to:
“Wake up, o sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you.”
This is a call for all of us to FULLY LIVE! Stop living scared. Stop avoiding your call to make an impact in the Kingdom of God, because of your past. God promises that his grace is sufficient for you, he has promised that Christ will shine upon you. Don’t put a blanket over the light God has given you, but carry the Torch and Light of the gospel and truth into the darkness. It’s time for us to Wake Up, Rise from the Spiritual death we have been trapped in and start making the most of every opportunity!
I will end with this… Steve Furtick in his book Sun Stand Still writes:
“You want to learn to walk by faith, not by sight? You can’t learn that without
walking through periods of complete darkness”
Live life, expect darkness, but embrace the process of God strengthening your Faith!
